A cake made of love to the little boy that was next to me, was placed in front of his face. I meant face because we were all too tiny for our bodies to meet the board of the table. Just our full faces met. I had to say that it was not smart to place a kindergarden group around a table higher than us without tall chairs, but you may guess how ignorant this family was about children parties.
The brownish table was placed in front of the door entrance. Joseph was beside me, sharing grumpily with me the frontal edge of the huge table. It had the capacity of 20 children, according to my classmates count. The foyer where we stayed was unusually empty in the party, except for the 20 gifts that were placed in another door far in front of me. It was surely empty for us not to touch a single piece of gold coming from this mansion. Around me, the green-flowered decorated wallpaper was matching softness with the ceiling that was 2 floors tall. It had a huge crystal chandelier hanging from an unnoticeable U shaped metal. The whole room was showered in a yellow, faint light that reached every corner of the dark night. On the center, we were all the guests, surrounded except from the back by a pair of separate stairs connected to the wall. I noticed at the end the strong green throw rug placed below our feet. Bet it was as soft as a kitten.
It was not of my pleasure to stay there waiting for someone to give the cake smash scream to be the first to turn into action, since I wanted to give that kid a nice time to cry, as quickly as possible. He was too innocent I say... "TOO" much. Slave Joseph was his nickname, or at least that's how I call him. His lonely presence was enough to disturb me, and what was worse was the fact that the little brat just loved to have company, though we all hated him. Joseph cared not and loved all. That is, all except me. Never knew why.
But sinking his head to the group of muffins made of his favorite game and enjoy then the show was not the only reason I came here. Laurene and her group of unfortunate bonds were to come for the party. I cared only for Laurene, and for my stomach who was about to give a good howl if these things didn't hurry with the usual boring song.
My attention then grasped to Laurene, sitting in the middle of her friends, in the chairs placed closer to the right stairs. Laurene was the only friend I liked. She smiled and said "hi!" every time I saw her. She was the only one I understood well from all this herd of hienas. Seeing her made me contain myself better. She might be the reason for why I tried to be better on all, including my extremely fat body. Even if I was white-pink in skin and blonde in hair, my body matched the white guy that announced tires in the freeway. My size was also smaller than the rest of my classmates. As if that weren't bad enough, my hair style was that of a picky fungus, and my clothes didn't fit me anymore. Not that my parents cared... But even with all of this, Laurene would talk and sit next to me, and smile every time she saw me. Indeed, she kept her classmates alive... for the moment.
I heard the entrance door open. Laurene's parents suddenly came for her. She waved everyone goodbye. Not as gracefully as a stereotipical princess... but with her smile at least. Beginning with her friends and to everyone in the room. Then, she turned and waved her white and slightly bulky hand to me with the joy and sincerity I liked. I didn't got to speak with her then. Heaven save me...
And things got much greater. Much, much greater.
"T-thank y-y-you e-e-ver-ry-one..." said Josehp shyly. His parents had to calm the crybaby down for him to speak! Unbelievable! I was boiling from the inside! About to do something awful... then...
"I a-am v-very h-happy now! T-thank you all! I l-like you! All! Really! So...please...please enjoy this cake!" He showed with his trembling hands the cake in front of him too clearly. "Its... its... its yours!"
And then looked at me.
I grabbed the muffin with blinky and pressed him in his face. Directly in the eye. I got up from my seat, and accidentally dropped it in the floor because of my mistaken volume calculations. I didn't looked back from the exit, but I could joyfully hear a slight and desperate whimper coming just from my back...
Followed by a beautiful, long awaited crowd of laughs.
